The Hangar 9® XCub 60cc ARF is the first officially licensed replica of the adventure-driven CubCrafters marvel. Working closely with the company, factory drawings of the full-scale were followed. And, like the full-scale marvel, our giant-scale XCub model was developed by scrutinizing every element of the platform to make the tried-and-true design better at meeting the needs of the modeler. The result is a best-of-the-best contender for the RC pilot seeking a giant-scale airplane that can do it all. Even though its 30%-size makes it large, modern conveniences and performance factors make it easy to handle, easy to complete, and fly great with rock-solid control. All wood, laser-cut construction claims the core asset of this rugged airframe especially designed to make onlookers second guess it from the real thing. Its outline is authentic with a cockpit interior that’s practical and realistic. Gleaming UltraCote® covering provides an exterior finish that simulates the genuine CubCrafters article in debut colors. Other scale features include tail wires, a tundra-style tail wheel, airfoil-shape wing struts and operational LED lighting, just to name a few.

Your time at the bench has been engineered to be enjoyable as possible. The large fiberglass cowling can fully conceal a powerful gas engine like the easy-to-use Evolution® 62GX. Flight batteries are convenient to access through scale cockpit side-doors that lock using a unique mechanism. The two-piece, plug-in wing design and folding struts make transport and storage easy. Flaps and ailerons feature a scale-type composite hinge that uses a removable metal pin—factory installed to help deliver scale fidelity and functionality without any extra work. A majority of assembly is bolt-together and the complete hardware package includes everything needed for an engine or electric power installation.

With the XCub 60cc, you get the classic Cub experience plus the benefits that modern technology has to offer in a model that will make your friends think you’re a giant-scale expert. Streamlined landing gear reduces drag for better acceleration and speed. Additional vertical fin area improves stability at higher speeds. Scale Authenticity
The Hangar 9 XCub is the first model of its kind and officially licensed by CubCrafters with outlines based on their full-size drawings. Like the full-scale, it’s matched with a roomy interior, LED lighting, generous control surface sizes, and similar hinging methods for scale fidelity and control handling that make it a dream to fly.

Lightweight Construction
Laser-cut, lightweight balsa and plywood construction is utilized to bring the XCub 60cc to life as a durable scale model that's expertly built to exacting standards. Genuine Hangar 9 UltraCote® covering delivers a scale trim scheme with an authentic finish that’s easy to maintain. Painted parts like the lightweight cowl, landing gear and wing struts match the colors with high gloss protection.

Functional Flaps
A light wing-load and generous wing area offer flight performance that’s comfortable at a wide range of speeds. When combined with one of the recommended power systems, operational flaps allow its versatile flight envelope to open even wider with impressive STOL capability and the ability to fly from and back into a short field even under a variety of conditions. Flaps and ailerons feature a scale-type composite hinge that uses a removable metal pin—factory installed to help deliver scale fidelity and functionality without any extra work.

Landing Gear
The full-scale aircraft has been supplied with the aerodynamically efficient aluminum spring gear. CubCrafters does offer the option to fit more traditional bungee-type gear and Hangar 9 models have followed suit. A custom made articulated bungee sprung gear is available as an option for the XCub 60cc and can be bolted straight onto the airframe. The stock streamlined landing gear offers a performance and low-maintenance advantage. The included tundra-style tail wheel assembly adds the scale appearance and provides effective ground control.

Designed for Towing
The recommended gas and electric power systems make the XCub 60cc a great Tug for sailplanes or banners. Just add a servo to the included tow-hook release mechanism designed for its built-in location on top of the fuselage.

Convenience Features
Designed with two-piece, plug-in wings, this giant-scale model can fit into a wider range of vehicles. Quick-release wing struts fold up to be more compact. No special tools are required at the field. Access to equipment is easily accomplished through a magnetic top-hatch, and the large folding cockpit doors in the fuselage.

Power It the Way You Want It
The XCub 60cc is designed to accept the Evolution® 62GX, 62cc gas engine, Saito® FG-61TS twin four-stroke gas engine or the E-flite® Power 360 brushless electric outrunner motor system on 12S. All hardware for the recommended power system options is included along with an electric motor mount so you can get to assembly right away and in the air faster. Plus, the included scale spinner with matching finish makes it easy to complete the scale outline.

  • Full-range, 8+ channel transmitter and receiver
  • (8) Standard-size servos (7 for an electric power version); (1) for optional tow release
