E-flite UMX Gee Bee R-2 Ultra Micro RC Golden Age Racer

This ulta micro version of a short-coupled golden age racer will give you a flying experience more like a friendly sport model. The authentic scale outline and generous detailing such as a clear canopy, pilot figure and flying wires attached to the wing may distract you from the incredibly smooth handling this Gee Bee has. You'll be wanting to get airborne on the daily after one fly! 

SAFE Select and AS3X Stabilisation for Confident Control

To give you the best flying experience possible the E-flite® UMX™ Gee Bee R-2 is equipped with exclusive Spektrum SAFE Select and AS3X technologies. SAFE Select technology is optional use and provides flight envelope protection. This gives you auto levelling if you lose control, plus pitch and bank angle limits to keep you in a manageable flight envelope. AS3X technology is a little more subtle in that it works behind the scenes providing continuing corrections to improve your control and stability. Both of these exclusive technologies enable intermediate RC pilots and up to fly this uniquely designed Golden Age RC racer successfully. 

 

Spektrum Telemetry-Ready Receiver and Integrated ESC

The control unit/flight controller equipped in your E-flite® UMX™ Gee Bee R-2 includes an ESC and Spektrum receiver that will provide your compatible Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitter with real-time flight battery voltage telemetry while you're flying. Compatible transmitters include the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, the iX12 to 20, and others.  

Brushless Power System with 2S and 3S Performance Options

The brushless power system on your E-flite® UMX™ Gee Bee R-2 has been factory installed and has a much quieter 2S and 3S compatible outrunner motor. If you attach a 280-300mAh 2S battery to this power system you will experience a similar performance to the original Gee Bee. If you hook up a 3S 300mAh battery, you'll have a significantly faster Gee Bee on your hands that will also deliver unlimited vertical performance. 

Lightweight EPS Airframe with High Detail and Easy Repairs

The E-flite® UMX™ Gee Bee R-2 is constructed from advanced EPS material, giving it a tough yet lightweight airframe. The EPS material allows for more surface detail and is also stiffer and lighter than EPO or EPP. It can be repaired easily in the event of crash damage with foam safe/odorless CA, epoxy, Foam 2 Foam and other foam friendly glues. There is also a complete line of Gee Bee spare parts available if the damaged parts or components can't be repaired. 

Factory-Assembled UMX RC Plane

Your E-flite® UMX™ Gee Bee R-2 is good to go straight out of the box, coming to you 100% factory assembled. You just need to install your fully charged battery, bind to your Spektrum DSM2/DSMX equipped radio and you are ready to take to the skies.

Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Advantage 

Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos, and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed, so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly! 

Skill Level 2 – Some Experience Required 

Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble and/or set up and fly similar class models. Although this is the easiest-to-fly Gee Bee model yet, it’s not a suitable first RC aircraft for new pilots or a “next step after a trainer” model for low-time RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly higher-performance ultra-micro models like the various UMX Timber models, or larger models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, the Commander mPd 1.4m, Timber 1.5m models, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the UMX Gee Bee R-2.
