FS626: Static Grass – 12mm Medium Green
Achieve high-impact vertical dimension with Woodland Scenics FS626 Static Grass. This 12mm "Medium Green" fiber is the ultimate tool for modelers who want to replicate lush, towering vegetation and dense wild growth. As the tallest fiber in the standard lineup, FS626 provides the dramatic texture and shadow-play needed to make your scenery look truly wild and untamed.
The 12mm Performance Profile
-
Extreme 12mm Height: The professional's choice for modeling tall weeds in HO scale or thick, bushy thickets in O and G scales.
-
Universal Medium Green: Formulated as a perfectly balanced green that bridges the gap between new spring growth and deep forest shadows, making it incredibly versatile for any layout.
-
Engineered for the Static King®: To ensure fibers of this length stand bolt upright, FS626 is optimized to hold a massive static charge, creating a convincing 3D "stand" that won't wilt.
-
Hyper-Realistic Depth: The 12mm length allows for incredible light interaction, casting deep micro-shadows that give your terrain a photographic, lifelike quality.
-
Multi-Scale Utility: While ideal for larger scales, it works beautifully in HO scale to represent the kind of tall, overgrown grass found in neglected industrial sites or rural meadows.
Advanced Layering Techniques
-
The "Abandoned Siding" Look: Apply FS626 in thick clumps between the ties of unused railroad tracks and around weathered buildings to simulate years of neglect.
-
Highlighting with "Talls": Spot-apply 12mm fibers over a 4mm or 7mm base layer to create the uneven, clumpy appearance of a real-world wild pasture.
-
Riverbanks and Reeds: Use the Medium Green 12mm length to create realistic riverbank reeds that blend seamlessly with Woodland Scenics water features.
