The Cutty Sark was one of the fastest ships of its type on the famous Tea Route from the shores of China to the London Docks. Since 1957 she has been in dry dock in Greenwich, London, attracting visitors from around the world. This much loved ship was almost destroyed in a major fire on 21st May 2007; its hoped she can be fully restored.

The Sark was first lauched on 22nd November 1869, built as a clipper - fast, large sailed cargo ship, designed by Hercules Linton of Scott and Linton in Dumbarton, Scotland. After being fitted with her masts she sailed to London to be loaded up with spirits, beer and wine, on 16th February, 1870, she left for her first voyage to China under the command of Captain George Moodie.
