Britain’s biggest boom stick – The FV4005 The Soviet JS-3, which appeared at the end of World War II, shook the United Kingdom. The British countermeasure was the FV4005 Stage 2, which was built on a Centurion chassis and equipped with a 183mm gun, and could fire a HESH projectile huge distances. Its huge turret sported 14mm-thick armour, and it could make limited turns of 90 degrees either left or right. Twelve rounds of ammunition were loaded, and a large door was installed at the rear of the turret to load and unload ammo. A prototype was built, but the project was cancelled, it is currently on display at the Tank Museum in Bovington as a “Gate Guardian”. This kit includes metal springs, photo-etched parts and decals.
