The Ultima, a 1/10 scale EP (electric) 2WD off-road car that went on sale in 1986, was a pinnacle of Kyosho's efforts in response to the increasingly cutting-edge R/C buggy scene. Completed with the most advanced technology of the time, the Ultima demonstrated high performance from the moment it was released, and achieved a magnificent 1-2-3 finish in the 2WD class of the World Championships held in the UK in 1987. The Ultima Pro, released in 1988 as a natural evolution of the Ultima, is being revived as the 21st release in Kyosho's Vintage Series. The original Ultima used a monocoque frame with a resin upper deck attached to a U-shaped molded aluminum frame, but the Ultima Pro has changed to a double-deck style that combines an aluminum flat chassis with an FRP upper deck, achieving both sufficient rigidity and appropriate flexibility. In addition, the degree of freedom in how the R/C mechanism and battery are mounted has also been increased.
This structure is retained in the reissue, and the front lower suspension arms have been changed to the same long type as the later model of the original Ultima Pro that appeared in 1989, resulting in a wider track, and the wheelbase has also been extended by 10 mm compared to the later model of the Ultima Pro, improving driving stability. The front and rear oil dampers, which are essential for off-road models, are dial-adjustable gold type, making them more practical than those of the original Ultima Pro. The front and rear damper stays that receive input from the dampers are made of FRP, which is exclusive to the Ultima Pro. With a name that means "ultimate" in Japanese, and true to its name, the Ultima Pro is the culmination of the first generation Ultima series which achieved great success in the racing world, and with the revival of the Ultima Pro, the world of Kyosho Vintage Series has become even deeper

- Double wishbone suspension that exhibits high road-following ability. The front is widened by 10mm on each side, for a total width of 20mm.
- Various rods are of the turnbuckle type, making it easy to adjust camber angle, toe angle, etc., with fine precision.
- Uses 2.2-inch wheels that expand tire options. The rear wheels are also compatible with Optima series offsets.
- Full bearing specification with ball bearings even in the servo saver.
- Assembly kit; R/C mechanics and power source must be purchased separately.
- Flexible design that supports shorty batteries and uses low-profile servos, allowing for vertical battery mounting.
This is a rear-wheel-drive buggy with a classic layout where the motor is mounted on the rear overhang. The aluminum main chassis and FRP upper deck, as well as the front and rear damper stays, are newly manufactured for this reissue model.
Equipped with a wide polycarbonate body that completely revamps the image from the original Ultima. By using the same mold as the original Ultima Pro, the style of that time has been perfectly reproduced.
Oil dampers with the same gold anodized finish as the original model. The spring tension adjustment method has been changed from the original clamp type to a dial type, improving the convenience and precision of the setting. The front and rear springs are fine selection.
The front and rear FRP shock (damper) stays have been extended. This allows the damper's stroke to be fully utilized and ensures that it reliably absorbs shocks from the road surface, resulting in high damping performance.
A new long-type front lower suspension arm with superior road-holding performance has been adopted. This is the same size as the original Ultima Pro late model released in 1989. The rear lower arm allows for toe angle adjustment by replacing the bushings.
Standard equipment includes turnbuckle-type tie rods that allow for easy adjustment of toe and camber angles simply by rotating the rod. This enables quick and precise adjustments, reducing the time required for setting changes.
The battery can be mounted horizontally using a general-purpose round straight type, or vertically. When mounted vertically, a low-profile steering servo with a short front-to-back length is used.
Equipped as standard with a ball-type differential unit that supports smooth cornering on all road surfaces thanks to its limited-slip effect.
The steering servo's mounting orientation has been changed by 90 degrees from the original Ultima Pro, and the servo saver arm has also been modified for a simpler style. This contributes to achieving linear steering response.
Equipped with a universal swing shaft that reliably transmits motor power to the rear tires. It offers high drive efficiency and will not detach even when subjected to large shocks.
The front and rear tires have been enlarged to 2.2 inches, with a medium compound on the front and a soft compound on the rear. This improves gap-breaking ability and cornering stability during off-road driving. The front and rear wheels feature a newly designed 8-hole wheel with an offset matched to the original. The rear wheel is compatible with Optima-series offsets.
The rear wing, which was made of polycarbonate resin on the original Ultima Pro, has been changed to nylon resin, which is more flexible and resistant to crashes. It is also equipped with resin wing stays that have excellent crash resistance.
